• I picked up my phone and dialed Alex's number. We had not seen each other in weeks, and it wasn't usually that way. He had been away on a work trip and wouldn't be returning until the following week. I missed being around him but I was also enjoying the time I was spending with Mark and Lyla as a family. Mark traveled earlier in the morning and was going to be away for some days.
• I didn't realize how much I'd missed Alex until I was alone in the house. I called for the third time but he still didn't pick up. I dropped my phone in frustration and sunk into the bed when a notification popped up on my phone. “Can't talk now? Text me.” I walked to the front of a mirror, took a photo of me almost naked, and sent it to him.
