• The following weeks were a haze of lawyer meetings and agreements. Fiona's agreeing to move, and giving their child a chance at some kind of normalcy, finally brought things to an end. Kenneth and Lisa both worked with their lawyers to ensure everything was arranged according to the new arrangement. It was quite a mess, really, but they were both committed to making it work.
• One evening, as they sat on the balcony of Lisa's apartment, looking out at the Miami skyline, Kenneth took Lisa's hand. "We're almost there," he said softly. "Just a few more details to iron out."
