Chapter 56 Baby In The Cell
- The hum of fluorescent lights was the only noise in Fiona's cell as she sat staring at the little plastic stick in her hand. Two pink lines. Pregnant. It hit her square, like a freight train. Her mind seemed to whirl with a thousand thoughts, but one beat louder than any other: she had to get to Kenneth.
- Fiona paced her small cell, her mind racing. Somewhere out there, Kenneth was rebuilding his life with Lisa, totally oblivious to the fact that Fiona carried his child. Somehow, she needed to find a way to use this to her advantage. The guards had taken her privileges to the phone, but she had other ways. Fiona was one of those resourceful kinds of girls.
- She reached under her thin mattress and pulled out a small, smuggled cell phone. It wasn't much, but it would do the job. She dialed a number she knew by heart, praying it hadn't changed.
