• Siobhan looked up as Proserpina walked in that afternoon. The Don’s Woman was on one of her unscheduled visits, and tailing her was Jamie, a very subdued-looking Jamie.
• Proserpina headed to her office in the centre of the Shelter, tailed by a couple of women who worked there. A few of the inmates stopped what they were doing to watch her, awed and not just a little envious of the lovely woman with her natural allure and charm.
• Siobhan sat back and sighed. She had been dwelling on Rudy and the chemistry between them. The moment they saw each other, sparks seemed to fly, she thought bitterly. She simply could not resist him, and she hated herself for her weakness.
