• After a lot of pleading, the Don agreed to allow Proserpina to go to the hospital to meet her friend, Melissa Lord. When they swept into the hospital, which was located close to the Shangri La, they were received like royalty. Not surprisingly, thought Proserpina wearily, as she smiled at a doctor who seemed overwhelmed to find Lucien Delano accompanying her. It was the Delano mob that had paid for most of the equipment, which was ultra-modern to a fault. It had also been the hospital that Proserpina had been brought to after the attack she had suffered at the hands of Bree Hampston nee Delano. Although the place held ugly memories for Proserpina, she was wise enough to acknowledge that it was the place where Melissa would receive the best, most discreet treatment.
• The doctor who was treating Melissa, was leaving the room where the feisty blonde was housed. Tara and Jack, as well as Ria, had all turned up to see her, knowing full well that Proserpina would also be coming to meet her friend.
