Chapter 75

• As Isabella stepped out of the taxi, her heart skipped a beat at the sight of the restaurant Victor Mason had chosen for their meeting. The modest eatery seemed out of place given Victor's title and wealth, and this only fueled her growing fear.
• She took a deep breath, whispered a silent prayer and pushed open the door. The restaurant was eerily empty except for Victor and his bodyguard, who stood strongly beside him.
• As she approached Victor’s table, a security guard stepped in front of her. “Excuse me, ma’am, there is….” The security guard began to speak, his tone firm as he wanted to turn her away. But before he could finish, Victor’s prompt gesture silenced him and he immediately stepped aside for Isabella to pass.
