• “We are so sorry, but we can’t employ a pregnant woman,” the manager said. This had always been the case, and it used to be so heartbreaking. I mean, what’s the issue with hiring a pregnant woman? I wasn’t sick; I was simply pregnant, for goodness' sake.
• “Sir, I promise you, I’m not a lazy pregnant woman. I’m hardworking, and you will never regret employing me, believe me,” I said, pleading, but it felt like he was determined not to hire a pregnant woman.
