- “Well, I’m not as drunk as you think,” I argue, swaying again in his arms as I attempt to give him a mock-serious look.
- “Oh, sure,” he says, clearly humoring me. He nods over to Axel, who’s watching us, trying to hide his smirk. “Axel, can you help get Jenni to one of the spare rooms, please?” Then, without missing a beat, he hoists me up, carrying me towards my room as I cling to him.
