• Blake and Alissia left, leaving me simmering in frustration. The cleanup is taking too long, and I can’t afford any loose ends. Ryan’s place is being scrubbed clean of any traces that could lead back to Alissia. I’ve already sent Blake instructions to wipe the CCTV footage around the building—no one can know she was ever there.
• Lucas sits across from me, leaning back in his chair like this is some sort of joke. It’s not. I’m on the verge of losing it. The idea of kidnapping Alissia and keeping her to myself feels disturbingly tempting. Could I really do that? Keep her locked away? It’s wrong, I know that, but just how wrong?
