Chapter 115 Figuring Things Out
- Lucas POV
- The morning feels heavy, a quiet tension hanging in the air as I make my way to the kitchen. I brew a cup of coffee, letting the familiar warmth and bitterness ground me, and then head over to sit beside Demitri. His expression is unreadable, his posture tense. I give him a questioning look, waiting for some kind of response, but he only shrugs.
- “He hasn’t said a word about it yet. I’ve had the bodies taken care of, so we’ll see,” he says, his voice low and clipped, as though he’s barely holding back a simmering frustration. I nod, understanding that this silence between them is as much a statement as any words could be.
