• From the moment Blake mentioned grabbing clothes for her, I felt the tension ease in my chest. It was as if a silent understanding passed between us, and I realized with quiet gratitude that he’d taken that essential first step in separating the care for her. I’m used to handling aftercare on my own, so the logistics of three people stepping into that intimate space had me at a bit of a loss. But Blake’s lead gave me clarity. Aftercare wouldn’t be a singular responsibility; it was something we could share, a piece of each of us taking turns to support her. With that in mind, I offered to get food and a drink, each of us ensuring she’d be attended to in our own way.
