• I stood there for Goddess knows how long, staring at the door. Is she serious right now? There was no way that I was stepping down as her bodyguard. Not when all of this bad shit was heading our way. I may not have a wolf, and I may not have her gifts, but I'd be damned if I stood by and watched something happen to her or my family. I knew that she could handle herself. I'd watched her do it countless times over. But that didn't mean I would allow her to face war alone. I would be right by her side, just how it was always supposed to be.
