• I knew that wherever I went, I would most likely be safe. But the further I got away from Colorado the better option I had. I managed to swipe Zola's pendant and as long as it remained on my neck, I was safe. I'm not sure why she left such a valuable item lying around in the open. But it served her well, so it might as well serve others, such as myself.
• It had been a week since I left, or better yet, kicked out. I kept my eyes open to ensure I wasn't being followed. Not that Elias would come looking for me. But I knew better than to think that Master wouldn't be hunting me down. I, after all, didn't get what he was after. He thought that if I became the Luna Queen, then I would have access to highly sensitive information on the whereabouts of the Alexandrite. But as far as I could tell, they were as clueless as he was about its location. I guess he thought if he could get his hands on it, then he could have control over all species. But I had a feeling it wasn't as simple as that. I had a feeling there was a more complex explanation for what the Alexandrite is really for. I mean has anyone ever seen it used before?
