• I decided I had to get gone. I knew that much. It only took one of them considering kidnapping my children to sell to the highest bidder for me to know we'd never be safe anywhere. I knew I felt something off about that human. She was well versed in my world because she came from a line of hunters. She acted too casually when addressing me, like she wasn't born to be a murderous vixen. Yet, she was kind and gentle. The opposite of a supernatural hunter, even one supposedly mated to a wolf. How fucked up was that?
• Imagine if her family knew she was secretly seeing the thing she was supposed to kill. I bet that would get messy. Messier than messy. If I weren't in immediate danger, I'd stick around to watch it unfold. Maybe even poke the bear a bit, just because I'm feeling a little petty. But, I won't. I had to run. I knew that after today nothing would be the same. Once I've disappeared, word will spread of who I am and what I carry. I'd officially be the world's most wanted.
