Chapter 47 Unmasking The Opponent

• Samantha loves Kyle. It is a fact that we and everyone else around her know about. But Samantha is not sure if this love is strong enough to put a person in jeopardy. Yes it is true and yes it is strong, at times even to the point of being willing to jump off a bullet or take a person's life, but when that idea was put to the test, Samantha is unsure. Her hands shake, a sweat runs into her cheeks from her forehead. "What do you mean pl...play with her?" Samantha's stuttering is evidence of how poorly she can hide her emotions at times, though she thought that she had mastered it thru several years of first-hand experience. "Are you sure you want to know about that? I think it is best that you do not know and just hand the information to me," Samantha can clearly image the smile on Stacy's face that comes along with this playful yet devilish tone. She had been quite acquainted with her this past few weeks, seeing things she shouldn't and realizing things that would have been best left not understood. Stacy has been too complacent with Samantha, on her mind Samantha is just a cute doll who will not do anything else aside from obeying her father. Stacy can't ever be more wrong. The blind date would have been the idea of Samantha's father, but the engagement is all on her and no one knows or even had a hint of this, not Stacy nor Kyle with all his wits and charms. Samantha is like a rose, so pretty to look at. So gentle and harmless, until you look under the rose and realize that it has so many thorns. Just like an Ivy, she can be poisonous if you take her lightly. Far from Stacy's belief, it was Samantha that made her a doll and not the other way around. Samantha was able to penetrate to Stacy's deepest obsessions, her deepest fears, and even to the secret that Stacy is denying even to herself. Stacy still loves Kyle, She was not able to move on. And this thought annoys Samantha to the core, how pathetic it is for Stacy to think that she will be under her claws, that she can be used as her puppet tied into strings just to do Stacy's wishes. How Pathetic... Samantha thought, her ideas that only she can hear- never shared to anyone but to her pillows and room walls. "I need to go now, my father is calling me. I will call you later okay?" Samantha said in a hurry, pretending. "What the F*ck, Send it later okay?" Stacy said in an annoyed tone but she can't do anything. "Yeah sure, of course," Samantha said with a smile. She never did. The call ended. Samantha slouched in front of her vanity mirror, painted in luxury from makeup brands to pieces of jewelry- but she is not happy. Samantha opened the vanity drawer, pulled up a black envelope that contains a USB along with a document that shows the certificate of the name change for Angel Kim. These files are top secret and it is impossible to have access to them if you do not belong to a powerful family and if one hundred billion won is not a chum change for you to spare just to get what you want. She has been holding on to this for a week now and this is the only time that she dared to open it, to know who she is up against and if that opponent is even worthy of her attention at all. Samantha pulled the USB first and left the Document to sit inside the envelope for some reason she is more interested in the face rather than knowing who she is or what name has she been hiding into. The file load in an instant, and sitting in front of Samantha is the life that Angel has built for years in secret, a secret that has caused lives and tears just to be buried for years, and it has been until someone as powerful and influential as Samantha showed up and put it into the spotlight. Samantha knows that once she opened the folder a series of unfortunate events might happen not to her but to the person whose life solely depends on this electronic folder. Who so ever Angel Kim is, her life depends on Samantha now. Double click. Samantha saw the pictures and they are not a lovely sight. The first picture is Kyle following Sia wearing a black hood while the latter seems to be unaware of his presence. The second picture shows Sia's full face and she looks somewhat familiar. Samantha clicks through one to three pictures she became more convinced that this person looks so familiar to her. Samantha goes back to the folder as she remembers the document that she did not mind earlier. Samantha was shocked when she read the name that Angel Kim is hiding in. It was really a name that she is familiar with, not only with the name but with the person's works and even with this person personally being the president of her fan club. Angel Brooks Sadness and confusion overcame Samantha's face as she remembers all the long hours waiting just to join this person's book concert. All the membership fees and books were under Angel's name that she would swear by. Samantha is an avid fan. An avid fan that loves her idols with all her heart and would not wish anything bad to happen to them, and now she is torn. Samantha now remembers the book that she was reading by Angel- her favorite. Now Samantha understands that it was written from the first-person point of view. Samantha goes back to the book and recalls all the tears she wept for the main character, when she lost her family and when her love for her gay best friend will never happen. How she sympathized with the pain and agony -ow how Samantha loves the protagonist! But it turns out, in the real-life, the antagonist will be her. Everything about Angel is declared on the file that was sent to Samantha, from the list of her allergies to the last time she had sex, in which the recent schedule is just less than two weeks ago-while Samantha is daydreaming a life with Kyle as her fiance' Angel is f*cking him behind her back. While Samantha is just imagining how soft Kyle's hands might have felt, Angel is already feeling his d*ck. These vulgar thoughts are what runs on Samantha's mind as she practically flies to Angel's current apartment-the only place that Angel thought was safe. The doorbell rang. Angel wonders and asked who is there but there was no response. The shabby apartment doest have monitors outside, it is already a blessing that the doorbell is working this time because most of the time it doesn't. She opened the door a little while the chain lock is still in there and she was greeted with a friendly face. Samantha smiled, Angel smiled back, though she is confused why her fan club president is here and how did she find the place. "May I come in?" Samantha's masked as a sweet innocent fan that means no harm. Angel opened the door though she is having second thoughts. A mistake she wished she didn't commit.
