Chapter 43 Three Weeks

  • It is such a bright sunny day. A good day to go out for a picnic with the people you love. A type of day that will make most people smile, call their loved ones, and invite them to a cup of coffee somewhere nice. It is a beautiful day. Angel is busy with her usual routine but this is not to say that a certain individual failed to knock on her mind every once in a while. It has been three weeks. Three weeks since she talked with Kyle. Three weeks since Kyle showed up. Three weeks since they shared each other and three weeks since she knew that Kyle is the son of his father's killer. It has been an awfully quiet three weeks, no one barging at the door and no one is blasting her phone except for work. Angel was able to survive those three weeks but it is easier said than done. If her walls could talk it could have told us how weird Angel has been on those three weeks. How she wakes up in the middle of the night and cries or how a lot of nights she lay on her bed looking lifeless and sleepless. If Angel's pillows could talk, it could have shared to us the whispers Angel has when no one is watching or how many tears have fallen on those puffy eyes. If the couch can share secrets, it would tell us how pathetic Angel looked as she stuffed her mouth with so much food while talking to the main character of a drama as if it was Kyle. But it was all in the past now, she had passed the three weeks without him. Something today made her feel rejuvenated as if she is reborn and Angel felt bolder. She told to herself, I feel better now, maybe I can talk with him. But she didn't. Angel did go to Seoul, attended a meeting, went shopping, and even visited a park- everything is fine. Everything is okay, this place is really big to just bump into Kyle. Or so she thought. It was around six pm, dinner time. Angel is in a restaurant- nothing fancy. She ordered a humble meal, just as usual. Everything is just as regular as you could imagine, just like a regular way to end your day, not boring just common. Everything is smooth until she realized that a tall figure is following her. She then realized that this person whoever he is has been following her. Angel asked herself when did this man start following her? She recalled seeing him from behind in the park, is it that? Or maybe he has been following her since the meeting? Angel tried to walk faster. She recalls what Kyle told her about his father wanting her dead. Angel's heart is beating fast, she struggles to get her phone and is about to dial 911 when the phone dropped because her hand is shaking. The street lights went out. Angel can clearly hear as the steps grow louder and closer as she struggles to find her phone amidst the interval on and off the light. "Come on, I might die in here, where the f*ck are you?" Fear and nervousness are evident in Angel's voice. She decided to leave her phone there and just run. Run as fast as she could! She is determined that she will not die here, she still has a lot of things to do. But it is too late, she was not able to run. A manly hand grabbed her hands. Angel struggled and shouted but the person is quick to push her back on the wall and cover her mouth. Angel's eyes grew bigger as she looks at the person in the face. The man is wearing a black mask along with his black hoodie and jeans. Maybe it is because of fear, her mind has already concluded that she will die tonight in the darkness of this Ally with its broken lights. The man is looking at her eye to eye and it took Angel more than ten seconds to realize. "Kyle?" Angel asked in a confused soft tone that still show a hint of her nervousness. The man pulled his mask down while still holding Angel's mouth. It is really Kyle with his eyes full of sadness, confusion, and anger. "Why the f*ck would you walk here? Can't you see the lights are broken? Are you f*cking stupid?" Kyle's tone of voice is his usual sarcasm towards Angel and she missed it. She missed it so much that it did not go on to her as sarcasm but rather on her ears it sounded as sweet melodies of care and love. But it is not enough. Angel, with all her might, bit Kyle's hand that cover her mouth. Kyle shouted in pain though it did not hurt as much as his heart for the past three weeks. "Why are you following me? Are you a psycho?!" Angel said in a stern voice, looking at Kyle's eyes for a matter of seconds, only a matter of seconds just to make Kyle think she is serious. Just a matter of seconds because if it would be more than that she might do something that she would regret – she might be able to show him the true colors she is struggling to hide in front of this man right now. Kyle walked closer to Angel. One step. Two Steps. It is too close and Angel can't stand it, it is making it hard to control urges, to control herself. Angel pushed Kyle but the latter refused to be pushed. "Let me go!" "Why?" Angel is stunned by the question. "Why? What do you mean why? You should know why! You..." Angel is not able to finish her sentence. It was all so fast. Fellings are really hard to control, no matter how hard you try- just like a tied steed they will break out and set themselves free whether you like it or not. Kyle pulled Angel close to his body. Pushed her head closed to his. Just like a marathon runner thirsty for water after a run, Kyle devoured Angel's lips. Anatasia's eyes are open, stunned by the move. At first, she refused, she struggled to move out of his arms but Kyle's strength along with her own heart and body failed her. Angel couldn't deny it anymore. The dark alley with its broken lights witnessed the heat exchange of Kyle and Angel's lips that clearly showed how they both struggled to pass the last three weeks. But there is another witness they failed to see, an uninvited guest that stayed and watched the show on the black clothes standing at the most calculated spot to see what is happening and yet remained camouflaged. "Where is he?" A scrambled voice comes out of a tiny radio talking to the person hidden in the dark watching the heated moment between lovers. "He is with the girl, Sir. What should I do next?" The man asked in low tones that clearly show how professional he is in staying hidden. "Abort mission, let's wait for another chance."
