Chapter 52 Frank
- We soared through the air, nothing but darkness beneath us and the promise of safety beyond. I gripped Antonio, gritting my teeth and hoping we'd make it. The rooftop became closer, but every inch felt like a mile as gravity tried to draw us down.
- We pounded the rooftop hard. I faltered, my legs collapsing beneath me as Antonio dragged me down. Pain surged through my side, and the gunshot hole was flowing profusely, but I hung on.
- Antonio moaned beside me. I could see the suffering on his face, his skin dull and sweaty. His blood coated my hands, mixed with mine, and I realized that unless we received aid right away, neither of us would survive the night.
