Chapter 38 Frank
- The air was heavy with tension, and my breath came in short bursts as I pressed my back against the cold concrete wall, listening for any sound beyond the passage. The weak light flashed above me, creating long, twitchy shadows on the floor. Melissa and her mother's footsteps reverberated slightly as they approached the concealed tunnel. They were still close. But my attention was drawn elsewhere—to the unknown menace lying just beyond the next curve. Someone was approaching, and I could not allow them get too far.
- A vibration in my pocket caused me to freeze for a second. I reached for my phone, eyes still fixed on the corridor. The message flashed on the screen...it was the strange man still.
- Unknown troops are approaching. Big T is preparing something greater than we imagined. Get them out now.
