Chapter 12 Frank

• “Who are you, Frank?” she asked softly, searching my eyes for answers. I took a deep breath, suddenly feeling the pressure. I wouldn’t have liked the truth to come out this way.
• "I'm not only the businessman you met at the party, Melissa. My family has a history... one that goes way back, and it's not all good. My uncle is involved in some serious business runs—some serious stuff that I got pulled into when I was young. I'm not proud of it, but it's a part of who I am."
• I let the words sink in. She deserved to know the truth, but I didn't want to scare her more than she already was. Her face was pale, but she didn't look away. I continued, "Big T, the guy who sent those men after us, is a dangerous man. He and I had a falling out, and he ended up in prison because of me. He's out now, and he's seeking revenge."
