Chapter 4 Melissa

  • I didn’t hear what he told the other guy, but they started moving down the pier. That’s when I saw it; a very beautiful pristine white boat.
  • I had no idea where they were heading, but as soon as the boat set anchor, the captain came out and headed where Angry Pants and the other guy were. Immediately he reached them and they started talking and I heard Staten Island among their conversation.
  • I guess this was my sign, I didn’t wait around to find out any more. I had to get aboard as soon as possible and without being seen so I could have a ride. Immediately I saw the opportunity, I rushed in with my stuff.
  • I didn’t know where I was heading to or what was in any of the rooms, but I kept wondering in awe. It was not only magnificent outside but inside as well. I had to get myself into a room so I don’t get caught, but where?
  • At this point, the boat had already started to move away from the pier but I was really lost for words. All the rooms I had seen looked so beautiful. I just needed one to hide out in. I opened the door nearest to me and stepped in. I turned the lights on to scan the room.
  • Nothing prepared me for what I saw next. It wasn’t the posters on the wall that did it for me, it was the baby python lounging in the corner farthest from me on a tree branch without any glass covering or cage.
  • I let out an earth-shattering scream. I didn’t care if I was going to be caught at this point, it was either that snake was going to kill me or my ‘Herpetophobia’. Either or which is faster.
  • In that instant, I heard as the door was forcefully thrown opened. I couldn’t turn but I heard the voice loud and clear.
  • “What the fuck are you doing here?!”
  • I couldn’t talk, I couldn’t move, but I guess he saw the look on my face and followed my line of sight.
  • “Fucking hell!” That was all he said before he gently drew me into him and covered my eyes. After telling me to count down to ten in my head, he removed his hands from my eyes and carried me bridal style with my face tucked in.
  • I couldn’t really focus on anything, and I couldn’t get over what I just saw. All I know was that, in less than a minute, I was in another room and he dropped me gently on the bed and gave me water to drink. I could only whisper my thanks.
  • “Did your mom never teach you about wandering and poking your nose in other people’s things? You’re bound to get stung or bitten if you do.” He was just kind a minute ago so what’s with this attitude.
  • He didn’t even give me a chance to talk, he went on,
  • “I don’t remember me giving you a free pass on my boat neither and you don’t bear the Dinero name, so what the fuck are you doing on board?”
  • “And don’t try to act dumb, I’m sure your initial shock would have worn off by now. Tiffany’s usually does around this time.”
  • I can’t believe I’m just noticing it, this guy dangerously close to me is half naked and he looks and smells so good that my head is dizzy.
  • ‘Keep it together Melissa, he is a man just like your dad and he wouldn’t hesitate to treat you like trash.’
  • “Who is Tiffany?” I can’t believe I just blurted that part of my thoughts out. I hope he doesn’t think I have some sort of crush on him and I am dying to know if she is a rival of any sort. He already seems like his head is stuck up his ass, I really don’t need to be adding to his ego right now.
  • “I don’t answer to you, you answer to me. Now get talking or I’ll ask that you be thrown overboard.”
  • Okay, I don’t think I can stand being thrown into the water now. Plus, I need to be on Staten Island as soon as I can. Me swimming there would just be highly disadvantageous to me.
  • “I didn’t mean to intrude, sorry about that. I just needed some sort of way to get across to Staten Island tonight. And I figured that you owed me that much at least, since you are the reason I missed out the last ferry ride for the night.” He’s got to have some sort of conscience in him at this point right? I mean, he was so kind not long ago.
  • “And why the fuck should I be helping you exactly? Last I remembered, you were the one who called both of us blind, according to you, we both made that mistake. So, you had the choice of not hitting me and avoiding all that drama.” Urgh, this guy is really unbearable.
  • “I didn’t hit you, you hit me. And in case you’ve forgotten, you stepped on my hand as well and that made me stay unwillingly around you and your bullshit!” In that split second, I felt his hands gripping my face bringing his face extremely close to mine.
  • “You don’t fucking get to shout at me princess. If anyone is going to be shouting, it’s going to be me. Got that?” What the fuck is happening. I’m slowly nodding at this point like he has me in some sort of trance, I can’t even coordinate my thought process anymore.
  • He is extremely handsome, that I must confess. I don’t know why I can’t look away from his face.
  • “Midnight blue.” I can’t believe I blurted out.
  • “What’s that?” Oh shit he heard me. Melissa Bells could you get any more obvious?
  • “Your eyes are midnight blue aren’t they?”
  • I guess he wasn’t expecting that reply because his face changed. But before I could get over the look he just gave me, he shocked me with the next thing he did. He kissed me.
  • Immediately his lips touched mine, I forgot about why I have always hated the opposite sex. I gave in to the kiss and kissed back as hard as he did.
  • I’ve has boyfriends before. But nothing prepared me for how powerful hi kiss made me go weak and my body was wanting more.
  • We parted for air, and I started counting in my head, ‘One Mississippi, Two Mississippi…”
  • Before I could get to three, he grabbed my face and went in for another kiss. Still in shock but filled with excitement, I felt his hands finding their way to my breasts. Slowing cupping and kneading them, slipping under my top to pinch my erect nipples. I couldn’t help the sounds that came out of me and immediately I tried to reciprocate the favor by feeling his bulge against me and reaching for him above the towel, he visibly flinched, then froze up.
  • And in a split second he changed. I don’t know when or how, but we managed to get on the bed at some point during our make out. He got off me with the speed of lightening and grabbed the clothes laid out on the bed. Thank God we didn’t get them tangled. I guess he had an occasion to attend or something.
  • “Feel free to use this room to get yourself together and what not. Also, get off this boat as soon as she comes to a stop. I hope our paths don’t cross again, twice in one day is plenty.” With that, he was gone.
  • He didn’t have to say it but I got the memo. ‘This never happened’. I can’t believe that I was so foolish enough to let my guard down. But damn, I’ve never been kissed like that before. Who was this guy?
  • I got my wits about me and freshend up in the bathroom. As soon as the Captain announced that we were getting close to the Island’s harbor, I immediately rushed to the entrance.
  • As soon as I reached it, as if on cue, the door opened and I stepped out as fast as I could. I guess he comes from a very wealthy family because, aside from the fact that the boat didn’t feel like just any boat, it also felt very weird to have a lot of people waiting by the dock and having a car waiting for him as well.
  • It was a Matte Black BMW i8. Yes I do know a lot about cars. I had to work at a garage once to assist my mom with some of the house bills. She didn’t ask me for my salary, and neither did she use any of it.
  • This memory of my mom brought tears to my eyes and also reminded me of why I was at Staten Island in the first place. I proceeded to find a ride to the job. And in the process called my friend to let her know I was still going to show up. Damn! I can’t believe that I failed to call her since.
  • Fifteen minutes later, I was at the mansion and being sneaked in by my friend Margaret to the server’s corner and given my uniform. She proceeded to tell me how lucky I was that the lady in charge gave me a grace of thirty minutes. That was approximately when I was aboard that guy’s boat.
  • Thank God for this little miracle cause I really needed the pay. The occasion had not started yet. Cars were coming in and people were laughing their hearts out, some out of sheer happiness and others out of highness.
  • I was assigned to the party hall as a standby waiter, to answer to the call and need of every masked person tonight. Being a masked party, my face was also covered. I can’t help but be shocked at how much was spent on this occasion.
  • Thirty minutes later and many glass refills later, most people were already drunk or high and trying to hold their shit together. Did I forget to add how fake they all looked? Laughing so hard at things not worth as little as a smirk and giving fake compliments and smiles to each other. Oh the life of the rich!
  • I always knew that most rich people were like the man that fathered me and my hatred for them intensifies each passing second I spend with them. I just couldn’t help it.
  • In that split second, like a magnet, I was drawn to a loud laugh across the hall. I guess that was the man of honor based on the description given. He was short and pudgy. He was patting at the shoulders of a guy who could easily see the top of his head.
  • I could tell that the guy was not having whatever it was that was going on around him. Clung to his other side was a woman. From her gait and the way she moved, I could tell she was older than him, unless he was a sugar boy, she was going to have to be some sort of mother or aunt.
  • I turned my face away from them, but I couldn’t help but be drawn back to the guy. He seemed so strange, yet so familiar. From his mannerisms, the outline of his boady, to the structure of his face, it seemed so familiar. But where do I know him from?
  • In that instant, he turned to face me and the reflection of light in his eyes gave me the answer I needed. “Midnight Blue!” I blurted out as if in a trance. As soon as I said that, I noticed that he bent to the woman beside him, whispered into her ear and kissed her on her head.
  • I turned immediately, I didn’t want to be caught staring. ‘What if he already noticed me and was making his way to me?’
  • ‘No, that won’t be possible because he already told me that what happened earlier never happened. So, I’m just a random stranger he has never met before.’
  • To satisfy my curiosity, I turned but he was nowhere to be found. For the rest of the night, I didn’t see him anywhere. I didn’t know why a part of me just wanted to see him, but it did and that was scary on its own.
  • As if someone out there was listening to my thoughts, I was asked to check in on the bedrooms with two other waiters to ensure that everything is okay. I left immediately and we parted at the middle, each taking a side out of the three main staircases.
  • I took the middle part which was reserved for family only and I had set out to check room by room, collecting used plates and glasses when necessary and ensuring the rooms were clean when I left them. According to the time frame given to us, the party was about hallway done, as such no one would be needing the rooms now, which made it the perfect time to sort them.
  • I know you are probably wondering how they’d let strangers into their rooms without knowing us from anywhere. Well, every little thing we had was taken into account, from the color of our hair to the color of our underwear. We were allowed to take tips. But those of us who were allowed into the bedroom areas were going to be thoroughly searched as soon as we got back to the kitchen to return the materials. Also, each hallway had two cameras.
  • At that instant, I heard the sound of glass shattering and rushed towards it. I didn’t know which room it was exactly, but then I heard a muffled sound. I guess they weren’t joking when they said each room was soundproof. I’m certain I heard the glass because it was targeted at the door I was standing in front of.
  • Bingo, right in front of a room were shards of broken glass. I immediately opened the door. Before me was the one person I looked forward to seeing all night. But why was he looking devastated and disheveled and very angry?
  • He looked up and his eyes met mine. He recognized me from the boat. He didn’t even let me talk, he walked briskly to me. Before I knew it, I heard the door shut and he had me pinned to the wall and kissed me with all his anger directed at me. It was a hard kiss searching for something. Redemption?. Void of all passion unlike the kiss we shared earlier.
  • “I’m not sure how you got here and I’m sure you’re not new to this. I could tell you wanted me from the kiss we shared aboard the boat. Just do what I say and I promise it will be worth your while. Agree?”
  • I didn’t have the heart to correct him because I was already hot for him. I can’t believe I’m about to do whatever he asks me to do. I can already feel the excitement brewing in my belly at just the mere thought of being with him.
  • Yes, my thoughts have been messed up since the kiss from earlier and I can’t seem but help but feel this magnetic attraction to him, someone I am supposed to hate for all the right reasons. Yet those reasons don’t seem to make sense anymore. Even if he devours me tonight, I’m sure as hell am not going to stop him. Yup, he must be a wizard to have broken all my barriers without any effort.
  • He carried me from the wall and placed me on the bed confused and speechless from that kiss. What the fuck is happening?
  • “Raise your skirt and spread your legs for me princess.”
