Chapter 136 A Fake

• "Since I started working, neither my father nor I have demolished or torched any kind of buildings," Emery answers with an angry tone in her voice the more she stares at Attorney Stephanie. "So no, I have not ordered anyone to set any apartment buildings on fire to own more lands."
• Attorney Stephanie nods in response but is not persuaded by Emery or anything else she has said over the past few minutes. She knew right away that Emery was going to lie her way out of this cross-examination and would try to win the jury over by putting on a fake sad expression, but she would not let a woman as strong and influential as Emery Eldredge get away with everything that she had done in the past that had been covered up for many years. She didn't want Emery to triumph over all of the people she had abused over the previous years in order to accomplish what she wanted.
• Emery, on the other hand, was feeling incredibly anxious due to all that had been occurring in court. She shoots a ferocious look back at Attorney Stephanie, intending to kill the annoying lawyer for doing such a good job of discrediting her as a businesswoman and exposing her long-held dark secrets and devious business practices in front of the judge, jury, and the entire world.
