Chapter 139 The Revenge Of An Assassin Part One

  • The night before the last day of their trial, Florence was still unable to speak for the past hours after the death of her sister while Kieran’s trial had two days off before their next schedule. Florence was in shock about what had happened to her sister and she did not even want to eat no matter how Elijah had been wanting her to. She just did not have any appetite nor the strength to speak.
  • "Florence," Elijah approaches her as he takes her hand. "I bought some wonton and chow mein, you want to eat them with me?" He stares at her empty heavy lidded eyes. "These are your favorite."
  • With the exception of Kieran, Florence, and Elijah, Zelda's wake was hardly attended; instead, the doors to the outside were well-guarded by Kieran's security. Kieran stood in the corner of the room. infuriated that this assassin is so close to Florence. Elijah had already told him the truth about who he was and what Emery had asked him to do regarding Florence but never really told Kieran how he was involved in his wife’s death. Kieran turns his attention to Elijah intently while he speaks with Florence all to himself. Kieran has a gut feeling that Emery may have been involved in Zelda’s death as well but he was unable to explain the uncertainty having Elijah around. Kieran is surely aware, in light of everything that has occurred, that Emery is solely responsible for the fatalities that have been occurring.
