Chapter 35

  • Theo nodded to the guard that stood by the door. The latter returned his gesture and opened the door. As soon as we stepped in, the wind hit my face, and the scent of the ocean assaulted my nose. I gasped, and my hands flew to my chest as I surveyed the beach.
  • I had gone to the beach quite a handful of times, but none of them brought me back home compared to what was before me. This was the most beautiful beach I had seen so far. The white sands shone like crystal, and the ocean sparkled under the brightness of the sun.
  • There were few people at the beach, and they were all adults. The age of the youngest person could be estimated to be twenty. Some of them wore conservative clothing, but most of them wore beachwear. Some couples splashed about by the shore, laughing and screaming when a wave approached.
