Chapter 24
- I wish I could say I was in a dream. Or what I saw before me was an illusion, a trick played on me by some vengeful witch who I may have offended in the past. Even a vision would do.
- But it was none of those. What I saw before me was reality. Stone cold reality. The couple before me that was locked in a passionate embrace was my longtime friend and my baby brother, with whom I had an eight-year gap. Both of them had become mated to each other.
- As I watched Lucy moan in pleasure as Eric gripped her tight and kept his teeth embedded in her neck, I wanted to laugh at the cruel joke the moon goddess just played on me. Because what else could I call it? It was a joke. She must have heard Lucy and I talking about the times when we used to tease my younger brother when he was little, and she thought it would be hilarious to give him Lucy as a mate as retribution. Well, she was wrong, and the joke was no longer funny. I had to stop this madness.
