• The next morning, Becca woke up on the soft bed with the sun rays streaming through the curtains. She turned to the other side of the bed, yawning as she stretched. Glancing around the room, she noticed there was no trace of Kai, and she furrowed her brows.
• "Where did he go? Empty bed again?" she murmured to herself, rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand. She lazily dragged herself out of bed and headed to the bathroom to wash up. With another yawn, she walked in and turned on the faucet, splashing cold water on her face to shake off the remnants of sleep. After brushing her teeth, she stepped out, feeling slightly more awake.
• Determined to find Kai, she made her way through the hallway. Arriving at the dining area, she saw Kai and the others engaged in a lively conversation in the living room. Not wanting to interrupt, she quietly walked to the dining table, taking a seat and tucking her hair behind her ear.
