Chapter 21 Delivery Done
- Tony observed Kai for a moment, sensing that something was amiss. Concerned, he approached Kai and gently asked, "Hey, what's going on? Where are you headed? Is everything okay?" Kai shook his head hurriedly and replied, "It's Becca. She tried to escape. I don't know what to do with her now." Tony's eyes widened in surprise, "What? How did she manage to get out? Wasn't she locked in her room?" Kai sighed and slapped his forehead, admitting, "Yes, she was. She jumped through her window." The other men nearby chuckled softly, and Tony muttered, "She certainly has some nerve." Shaking his head, he continued, "Alright, I'll stay here and finish the job. You deal with Becca. Just bring back good news to me, alright?" Kai nodded, appreciative of Tony's support, and turned to leave the warehouse with two of his men accompanying him. "You've got this," Tony reassured him before adding, "Take care of Mr. Hawkins." "Absolutely," Tony confirmed enthusiastically.
- As Kai settled into the back seat of his car, accompanied by his men who occupied the driver's and passenger's seats, he found his mind swirling with thoughts. Questions like "What should I do with her?" and "Is she safe?" tormented him. He let out a heavy sigh and gazed out of the car window, muttering to himself, "Damn, Becca, you're really testing my patience. You want to see a side of me you won't like, don't you?" Disturbed by another beep from his phone, Kai retrieved it and discovered a message from his father. His father inquired about his well-being and mentioned rumors of a woman staying with him in the mansion, speculating if she was his wife. Kai chuckled at his father's text and rolled his eyes, responding, "I'm doing well, Dad. There's no wife at home, just business. Going to meet Mr. Hawkins now." He decided not to disclose the truth to his father as the lady he had brought home had been behaving erratically, driving him to the edge of frustration. Putting his phone away, he dismissed the idea of replying to his father's next text.
