• Kai sped through the city streets, his heart pounding in his chest. The image of Becca fainting in his arms replayed in his mind, fueling his urgency. He barely noticed the familiar route to the hospital, his focus solely on getting there as quickly as possible.
• As he pulled into the hospital parking lot, he parked haphazardly and sprinted inside, ignoring the curious glances from the staff and patients. He reached the reception desk, slightly out of breath. “I’m here to see Dr. Rodriguez. It’s urgent.”
• The receptionist, sensing the urgency in his voice, nodded and quickly directed him to the doctor’s office.
