Chapter 10 Done Job
- Mr. Maverick along with Alan and his family swiftly exited the mansion, determined to find Becca. They arrived at the mart, and Mr. Maverick immediately approached Bianca who was anxiously waiting there.
- Not long after, the police had already arrived due to the reported dead body. Concerned, Alan asked, "What happened here?" as he gazed at the scene across the road. Bianca, trembling, responded, "He was shot. We don't know who did it."
- Looking for guidance, she turned to Mr. Maverick and asked, "Sir, what do we do now?" Fear consumed her entire being as she added, "Becca was probably out here when that guy got shot."
- Curious about the lack of any gunshot sound, Mr. Maverick questioned, "No one heard the gun shot?" Bianca replied with a shaky voice, "No, the police said it was a silent pistol. Isn't it possible that she was taken by the killer?"
- Attempting to calm everyone's nerves, Alan joined the conversation and inquired, "Hey, calm down. That's not possible. Who would want to take her? And why?" He turned to Mr. Maverick, seeking answers.
- With a low sigh and a shrug, Mr. Maverick admitted, "I have no idea why or who." Realizing the urgency, Bianca suggested, "Let's report this to the police, the sooner the better."
- Suddenly, something struck Mr. Maverick's thoughts, "Could it be William? But why would he want my daughter?"
- Alan, worried about Becca's safety if William was involved, pleaded, "Father, what do you think? Bianca is right, we should report her case to the police."
- Feeling hurt by his own words, Mr. Maverick responded, "Uhm, why don't we wait till tomorrow morning?" Bianca exclaimed in disbelief, "Tomorrow morning? The police are right there, we can just report this case, Mr. Maverick."
- Resolute in his belief, he insisted, "No, no... we should not. Becca will come back home, I'm sure of it," even though it sounded unbelievable.
- Frustrated by the gravity of the situation, Alan confronted Mr. Maverick, "Mr. Maverick, this is my fiancée we are talking about!"
- Defending his stance, Mr. Maverick fired back, "And my daughter!"
- Alan paused, swallowing heavily, and stood with arms crossed. His gaze shifted towards the group of cops standing across the road before turning back to Becca's father. Desperate for a plan, he asked, "So what now? Do I announce to them that my fiancée went missing on our engagement night?"
- Understanding the stakes, Mr. Maverick replied, "Alan, this is my daughter we are talking about. We should try to remain calm and see if she returns before dawn tomorrow."
- Filled with tension, Bianca spoke up, "But what if the kidnapper kills her before then?"
- Trying to reassure everyone, Mr. Maverick asserted, "They can't just harm her like that. Perhaps they will demand a ransom or something."
- In tears, Bianca cried out, "Why would anyone want to harm Becca?" Feeling the weight of the situation, Mr. Maverick added, "This is hurting me too, okay?"
- Just then, one of the policemen spotted Mr. Maverick and recognized him. Excitedly, he called out, "Oh my god, Mr. Maverick!" and approached him. "What a surprise to meet you here," he exclaimed.
- Responding curtly, Mr. Maverick forced a smile and said, "Oh, yeah." The officer inquired, "What brings you out at this time of night? Is everything okay, sir?"
- Replying quickly, Mr. Maverick assured him, "Yeah, everything's fine. I'm heading back now. What's happening over there?"
- The officer revealed, "Oh, it's a murder case. We'll work on finding the killer." He then turned his attention to Bianca and noticed her uniform. "You work here, don't you?" he asked.
- Stuttering nervously, Bianca answered, "Y-y-yes, sir." Sensing her distress, the officer sighed and said, "May I ask you a few questions, ma'am?"
- Still shaken, Bianca responded honestly, "Honestly speaking, I have no idea what happened here. I just got out, and none of us heard the gunshot either."
- Understanding her confusion, he thanked her for her time and bid them all goodnight before leaving. Alan released a heavy sigh and turned to face Mr. Maverick.
- “This is going to sound ridiculous to them but we have to tell them, Becca went out.”
- “Who is going to fall for that?” Alan asked him with a fake laugh.
- “They would not, or you just go somewhere else… I will tell them you went away with her.”
- “What?” Bianca exclaimed, finding it totally absurd to say.
- “I know it sound stupid but what can I say, I am not sure if she is kidnapped so should I just announce that she is?” he whispered.
- “Okay I get, I can’t go back to that engagement, it is an embarrassment.” Alan muttered as he turned away to leave
- “Alan!”
- “What do I tell my father sir?” Alan retorted
- “Okay fine, I will tell them she went away and would be back tomorrow, I will do my best to get her back.” He reassured Alan.
- At Kai’s mansion,
- The black rover car pulled to a halt in the mansion’s garage as Tony stepped out with the rest of the men. One of them is carrying Becca’s limp body around his shoulder as they made their way into the mansion.
- Kai was patiently waiting for them in the living room; his gaze went up to tony as he entered the room.
- “Done, we have her here with us.” Tony said to him. Kai did not bother to look at her body, he nodded his head dismissively.
- “Oh, okay…. Had any issues to handle?” he asked tony as he sat down and relaxed his back against the couch.
- “No, not one.” Tony replied with a smile and Kai got up from his seat, picking up the glass of tequila in his hands as he walked away.
- “Good, you are done for the day, you should go rest now.” He replied
- “Take her body to one of the rooms and tie her hands to the bed, she should be awake by tomorrow morning.” He ordered.
- “Yes boss.” The guy carrying Becca replied as he walked up the foyer with other men beside him.
- “Kai, I think there was a celebration going on before we took her away.”
- “At her home?” Kai asked him
- “Yes” Tony replied with a sigh
- “So what now? I don’t care if there was any celebration going on, those is Mr. Maverick’s business and not mine. By tomorrow or tonight he would call me.”
- “What if he doesn’t know we took his daughter?” Tony replied with a shrug and Kai inhaled sharply.
- “Yeah, you are right… I will place a call through him tomorrow.” He replied dismissively.
- “Oh, okay cool. I should go to bed now I guess.” Tony sighed as he stood up from couch to leave.
- “Good night.” Kai replied and soon, Tony was out o his sight.
- He turned his face to the wall, contemplating on what to do with Becca. He thought of going to her room but he was not in the mood to see her face. He rolled his eyes and walked back to couch.
- As he sat on the couch, he crossed his legs on the table before him and took a sip from his glass, “Maybe next time, you would not mess with the wrong one. “We are done boss.” A voice said from his right side, “Oh, what room is it?”
- “The one close to the first laundry room.”
- “Okay, good one.”
