Chapter 6 After Sex

  • After an extremely pleasurable love-making, Liam’s hair was a little damp at its roots and his forehead was covered with a layer of sweat.
  • The woman under him had fallen asleep after their intense session. Her little face blushed and even her body flushed in the shade of light pink, but the patches of purplish hickeys on her fair complexion was an eyesore.
  • Liam, who had already worn his clothes, cast a rather complex look at the strange woman beside him.
  • Ever since that incident years ago, he never had any sexual relationship with a woman in ten years. He never expected that picking up a strange woman by the roadside out of sympathy would actually result in him breaking his decade-long abstinence.
  • Eris’ body was burning, which caused her to be in a daze. Her head was filled with countless fragments of images and voices that seemed to fade away.
  • When Liam’s hands touched her soft body as he tried to help her up, her unusually high body temperature made his expression change. He extended his hand and placed it on her forehead—it was terrifyingly hot.
  • With his brows knitted, he picked up the suit jacket at one side and draped it over her body before he rolled down the car window and called out, “Ivan, we need to return home immediately.”
  • The air in the car during that few minutes’ drive was somewhat uncanny.
  • Ivan did not dare to say a word while Liam embraced Eris in his arms with an impassive expression. Nobody could tell what Liam had in mind.
  • When they arrived home, he carried Eris in his arms and alighted from the car without saying anything.
  • As he looked at Liam hastily leaving from behind, Ivan subconsciously raised his head and looked at the sky.
  • She was running a high temperature at 41°C and there was no sign of her fever subsiding since she arrived at Liam’s place.
  • “Young Master, I’m afraid we will have to get a doctor over to check her condition. The antipyretic drug doesn’t seem to have an effect on her even after she has taken it.” Liam’s housekeeper, Maria, was woken up from bed late at night. After taking care of Eris for more than two hours, there was no sign of her fever subsiding and she kept mumbling unconsciously, which worried Maria a little.
  • Liam nodded and left the room with his phone in his hand without saying anything.
  • A disheveled-looking man ran into the room while cursing and grunting 30 minutes later.
  • The moment he saw Liam, he immediately threw a punch. “You better have a good reason for disturbing my sleep late at night.”
  • “Attend to the important matters first.” Liam still had his never-changing poker face that lacked emotion when he calmly darted a glance at the man who had just arrived. Then, he returned to the room.
  • The man continued to grumble behind Liam in annoyance for being woken up from his sleep at 3:00AM.
  • Upon entering the room, he immediately spotted the woman on Liam’s bed, which made him shriek. “F*ck! Liam, explain yourself—why is there a woman on your bed? Don’t tell me that she fell from the sky.”
  • Liam darted at the man with a cold glance. “She is running a high fever at 41°C. She has taken antipyretic drugs, but her fever doesn’t seem to be subsiding.”
  • “I’m a chief physician and you have actually asked me to examine a patient with a fever?” Charlie Lawson continued to grunt, but he obediently approached Eris.
  • “Her condition is not good. I suppose that she has pneumonia. She must be admitted to the hospital right away or else her life may be at risk.” After a simple examination, he was able to confirm her illness. He had suppressed his frivolous attitude and replaced it with a serious bearing.
  • “Maria, ask the driver to immediately come over. We are going to the hospital.”
