Chapter 10 I Do

  • “Wish for Mark to fall in love with me?” Eris looked at Liam in disbelief. Will a heartless man like Mark fall in love with anyone?
  • Liam pulled out a chair and took a seat in front of her before he looked into her eyes in a serious manner. “Nothing is impossible; it’s just a matter of whether you want it to happen or not.”
  • “You really have a way?” Although Eris found it hard to believe, she still wished for it to be real.
  • “You can choose to believe me. The worst outcome would be that he still doesn’t love you. Could there be a worse outcome than that?” A cold smile played by his lips as he asked her rhetorically with a hint of mockery in his tone, and it rendered her speechless.
  • He has a point; what could be worse than now?
  • And so, after a fleeting moment of hesitation, she made up her mind and murmured, “Okay.”
  • Eris would never be willing to let go until she tried her best no matter what. Who knows? What if he really has a way to make Mark fall in love with me?
  • “What are your terms?” Nothing comes free in this world and he must have his reasons for wanting to help me.
  • Liam rubbed his chin and thought about it for a moment before he slowly replied, “I haven’t thought of it yet. I will tell you when I do.”
  • “If you are able to make Mark fall in love with me, I will agree to any condition of yours.” She clenched her fists and her gaze was determined.
  • Looking at Eris’ gaze that was filled with resolution, the smile by the corner of Liam’s lips became colder.
  • “You better remember what you said today; don’t regret your words.” With that, he said no more and tossed a gold-plated business card at her before turning away and leaving.
  • Eris tossed and turned in bed that night. Everything that had happened these past couple of days felt like a dream to her.
  • The next day, sure enough, Mark arranged a driver to pick her up and take her to the Fuller Residence early in the morning.
  • After briefly tidying herself up and changing into the clothes that Liam had bought for her, she left the hospital with the driver.
  • The Fuller Residence was even more luxurious and fancier than what she had imagined. The entire villa occupied a land area of approximately 2,000 square meters, and right smack in the middle of it was a villa that resembled a European castle—it was nothing short of magnificent.
  • However, even after Eris entered through the main door, she did not see Mark around.
  • It was at this moment that the last bit of hope that she had been holding on to was completely shattered. How could I even expect Mark to spare some time and accompany me here?
  • “Such a pompous character you have—you are finally willing to come and meet the elders after calling you for over a million times.” Upon entering the main door, a rather snarky female voice was heard from somewhere not far away.
  • Eris raised her head and looked in the direction of the voice, only to see a woman in a beige tight-fitting gown leaning against the couch as she stared at her with cold eyes and her arms folded across her chest.
  • Eris had never met Mark’s family, so it would only be natural for her to not know the woman. However, from her expression, Eris could tell that the lady was not exactly an amiable person.
  • She paused in her tracks and didn’t continue walking forward.
  • At that moment, a woman, who was sitting on the couch behind the lady, arrogantly muttered, “Since you are here, come over and take a seat. I have been wanting to have a word with you for a long time.”
  • Eris glanced at the woman who was speaking and found that she resembled Mark in terms of their looks, but she looked much more spiteful and sterner compared to him.
  • Instead of backing down, she took a deep breath, then raised her head and puffed out her chest before she obediently took a seat opposite them.
  • Georgia Tilbury sat up straight as she coldly peered at Eris, who had an impassive expression as she sat opposite her, while saying indifferently, “Since you are married to Mark, I have nothing much to comment on that. But both of you have been married for four years, shouldn’t you have at least given birth to a child for the Fuller Family? If you are infertile, I’m afraid that we may have to get someone to replace you as the Young Mistress of the Fuller Family.” From how Georgia looked at Eris, it was obvious that she was not fond of her.
  • Upon hearing that, Eris’ body trembled a little and she raised her head and looked at Georgia. Just as she was about to reply to her, a familiar voice came from the main door. “You don’t need to worry about a child. You guys will hear the news that you have been longing to hear in three months’ time.”
