• I toss and turn in bed, the sheets tangling around me, my mind refusing to quiet. The darkness of my room feels oppressive, closing in on me with every second that passes. I don’t know why I’m restless, but no matter how many times I adjust my pillow or try to settle in, sleep eludes me. My thoughts drift—first to Kylian and the overwhelming plans for the mating ceremony, then to Mimimi and the joy she brings me, and then… to something else, something I can’t quite name but feel deep in my chest.
