Chapter 21
- Raizel’s POV
- The weight of a long day finally lifted as I signed off on the last document of the construction project. I leaned back in my chair, allowing myself a rare moment of relaxation. The office, bathed in the warm glow of the full moon, seemed almost peaceful, a stark contrast to the chaos of the day. Yet, my mind quickly wandered to Cesmae.
- Thinking back to when I first encountered her, I couldn’t ignore the way her presence had struck me so profoundly. Mimimi’s small figure had been by her side when I first saw her—an innocent, hopeful child clutching at the woman who seemed to mirror the woman I had lost. The resemblance between Cesmae and Damaris, my late wife, was almost eerie. Her brown hair with the red streak, her mismatched eyes—it all felt like a cruel twist of fate.
