Chapter 76 Fiona
- I saw Joshua in my dream. He held me tightly to his chest, as he often did in bed. But this time his face looked grim and worried. The muscles in his face were tense as he pressed his lips to my temple.
- I asked him what was wrong, but he didn't answer. He kept his lips sealed. I couldn't lift my hand to touch his face. It hurt. All I felt was pain all over my body. My eyes felt heavy. I hadn't slept in days. I couldn't sleep in that cell. All my senses had to be active even when I closed my eyes. I had to be ready if Alana or the guards came to hurt me at any moment. They were cruel, insane people.
- As Joshua held me, I completely surrendered to the pain and drowsiness. He would keep me safe. Even if this was just a dream and Joshua wasn't real, I still felt safe just thinking about having him near me.
