From the look on his face, it seemed urgent and important. I was sure Joshua would rather keep me close than leave me alone in this strange place.
  • Thankfully, no one was in the bathroom. I needed to get away from the hustle and bustle outside for a while. The event wasn't suited to my introverted nature. It felt strange to pretend to be interested in the topics they were discussing. If they knew, my stomach would churn every time they talked about their luxury goods or boasted about their lavish vacations.
