- Our eyes met. He stared intently at me, his palm pulling my chin to his mouth. His lips moved gently against mine. He caressed my bottom lip with his wet, hot tongue. I closed my eyes and wrapped my arms around his neck to deepen the kiss. Our lips moved in stunning harmony. I didn’t care what anyone else thought of our relationship. As wrong as it was, it was starting to feel right to me. He protected me, he prepared a surprise for my birthday when my boyfriend had never done that before. He taught me how to shoot, and he promised me the honor of killing Alana. No man had ever given me that much before. If I wasted it, it would be the biggest fool of my life.
- “I was waiting for you at the dining table last night,” I whispered softly against his lips as soon as he broke away from our connection.
