• I hadn't planned on returning to Chicago so soon. I thought I'd spend the whole year there. I found more peace in Miami. Not many people knew me there. I was just a stranger. I was free to do whatever I wanted without the shadow of my family's fame.
• I usually wouldn't sacrifice my pleasure for a woman. Especially a woman who had betrayed me so many times and ran away from me. I never acted impulsively because of a woman.
• But when Alana's horrific message arrived this morning, I didn't have to think twice about flying back to Chicago. I was returning to the place where I was born and raised. A place where my family's fame influenced every aspect of life in this country. A place where I had the power to destroy that damn bitch and her entire family. Alana thought taking Fiona to the suite where we first met and made love would be something sentimental for me. No, she was wrong. I never stored a single memory of her in my brain.
