Chapter 44 Joshua
- The thing I hated most about ascending to the throne as Don was attending meetings with troublesome clients. They were fussy and demanding, but they were potential buyers for our property business. Sometimes, the money from drug deals, casinos, and arms sales didn't go straight to the bank; we allocated it to several legitimate, government-registered businesses. We kept these legitimate businesses clean by paying taxes regularly and maintaining good relationships with our clients. I had to keep my temper under control, even though they were very fussy and demanding. The motto "the customer is king" was highly respected in this business. It was the exact opposite of what happened in the underworld. If those people were too fussy and demanding, my men wouldn't hesitate to stuff their mouths with pistols. It was practical and easy.
- The two-hour meeting was finally over. They agreed with the solutions I'd offered them. The real estate project remained on track. Nothing would mess up again. Fresh money would flow into the organization.
- Shit.
