• Mady was in her room, getting dressed for the event. She had on a short strapless dress, almost at her knee. Her straight hair was parted at the centre, allowing it to fall on her shoulders. She wore light makeup. She wore a raspberry coloured lipstick. When she was done, she looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her earrings dangled each time she turned her head.
• Beatrice stood at the door and watched her get ready. Mady saw her from the mirror and had a smug smile on her face.
• "Won't you compliment my outfit?" Mady asked cheerily, looking at her from the mirror.
