• Josephine was editing a design draft on her computer in the office. She had been worked to the bone for the past week as she personally tailored and altered more than twenty outfits. She only had a few hours to herself a day. However, Maverick was outstation for work. She was free to do whatever she wanted.
• Linda walked in and looked at all of the mannequins in the room. “Josephine, you really are a piece of work. Mr. Lambert isn't even here right now. No one will notice all the effort you're putting into this. Even if you want to get on his good side, this definitely isn't the way.”
• Josephine put down the needle and thread she was holding. “If you have nothing better to do, then go find somebody else to bother. What I choose to do with my time is none of your business. Whoever's good side I want to get on is none of your business, either.”
