Chapter 98

• Dominic sat beside his father's bed, watching as Marcello's chest rose and fell with each slow breath. The old man was sleeping, his face pale and drawn from the pain and trauma he had endured.
• Dominic's own face was etched with worry and hurt. He couldn't believe that Rose, the woman he had fallen in love with, could betray him like this. He had trusted her blindly, opening his heart and his home to her. And now, it seemed, she might be the one who had tried to kill his father.
• Dominic's mind was a jumble of emotions, his thoughts racing with questions and doubts. How could Rose do this to him? Had he been blind to her true nature all along? He thought back to all the times they had spent together, all the laughter and the tears they had shared. Had it all been a lie?
