Chapter 91

• Arthur's room was dimly lit, the only sound the clinking of ice in his glass as he poured himself another drink. He had been drinking like a madman for hours, trying to drown out the emotions that threatened to consume him.
• As he lifted the glass to his lips, his eyes gazed blankly into the distance, his mind consumed by thoughts of Valarie. He had always admired her, cared for her deeply, but now she hated him. The pain of her rejection cut deep, and Arthur couldn't help but wonder why.
• He knew the answer, of course. Valarie hated him because of his loyalty to Dominic. She saw him as a monster, a man who would do anything to protect his boss, no matter the cost. And Arthur couldn't blame her. He had done some terrible things in the name of loyalty, things that he couldn't even bear to think about.
