• Valarie sat in the car and gazed through the window, admiring the way the snow fell heavily and cast an impenetrable silence over the deserted road. But just a couple of moments later, a feeling of awkwardness started creeping into her peaceful mind. Jasper was out for too long, and now she is beginning to worry.
• She had looked at her watch for what felt like the hundredth time. Each tick of the minute, she felt more and more anxious. Where had Jasper gone? What's happened to him? And what about the mechanic? Would they be able to fix the car?
