• Dominic and John stepped out of the office and were pulled out by the noise creating a commotion in the hallway. When they turned the corner, Dominic's eyes widened in shock. There was Valarie standing in the hallway, a broad smile on her face as she embraced Lily tightly. Tears of happiness rolled down her cheeks, and her eyes twinkled with bliss.
• Dominic's eyes were glued to Valarie's smiling face. He hadn't seen it for months, and it hit him like a kick in the stomach. His cold heart, frozen for so long, was beginning to melt away at the sight of her happiness.
