Chapter 9
- Ethan's eyes narrowed as he stared at the letter in his hand, the words "dismissed from alpha duties" burning into his brain like a branding iron. He couldn't believe it. He, Ethan, the strongest and most capable alpha in the pack, had been cast aside like a used rag.
- He crumpled the letter in his fist, his anger boiling over like a pot left unattended. How could they do this to him? Didn't they know who he was? Didn't they know what he was capable of? He stalked out of his room, slamming the door behind him. He needed to get out, to clear his head, to make sense of this betrayal.
- As he walked, his feet carried him to the one person who could understand him, the one person who could soothe his savage beast. Dara, his luna, the key to strengthening his bloodline. But as he approached her room, he could feel a sense of unease emanating from within. He knew Dara was not one to be trifled with, knew she was a force to be reckoned with.
