Chapter 7

  • Isabella's heart raced as she turned to face the figure, its eyes still glowing with an otherworldly light. She knew who it was now, the one who had been haunting her dreams for so long. It was Kaida, the pack's former beta, thought to be dead after the rogue attack that had destroyed her family and pack.
  • Kaida's gaze locked onto Isabella's, a mixture of emotions swirling in her eyes. "You remember," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
  • Isabella nodded, her mind reeling with questions. "Kaida? How're are you here? Whats happening? Whappened to you?" she asked, her voice shaking.
  • Kaida's eyes flickered to Alpha Ethan and Alpha Jackson, who stood frozen, motionless. "They know nothing," she spat, her voice venomous. "They never knew the truth.
  • Alpha Ethan stepped forward, his eyes narrowed. "What truth?" he demanded.
  • Kaida's gaze snapped back to Isabella. "The truth about the rogue attack," she said. "The truth about who was really behind it."
  • Isabella's heart skipped a beat as she felt the ground trembling beneath her feet. What was Kaida talking about?
  • Alpha Jackson growled, his eyes flashing with anger. "What are you insinuating?"
  • Kaida's smile was cold, calculated. "I'm not insinuating anything," she said. "I'm stating facts. Facts that have been hidden for far too long."
  • As Kaida spoke, the air seemed to thicken, the tension building to a breaking point. Isabella felt like she was trapped in a nightmare, unable to wake up.
  • "What facts?" Isabella asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
  • Kaida's eyes gleamed with a sinister light. "The fact that the rogue attack was not a random event," she said. "The fact that it was orchestrated by someone within our own pack."
  • "I know you and I haven't been in the best laughing positions even while in the same pack, but I will not stand here and watch you make baseless conclusions", Isabella voiced.
  • "Time will tell who's making the baseless conclusions".
  • And with that, Kaida vanished into the darkness, leaving Isabella, Alpha Ethan, and Alpha Jackson staring at each other in confusion.
  • "What just happened? I dont think she has gone far, I'll get a hold of her" Alpha Ethan said, his voice low and even.
  • Isabella shook her head, her mind reeling. "No! Dont bother. I don't know what just happened but its my burden and cross. Stay out of it," she demanded. " I think im in grave danger," she whispered.
  • Alpha Jackson growled, his eyes flashing with anger. "We need to get to the bottom of this," he said. "Now."
  • As they turned to leave, Isabella felt a presence behind her. She spun around, but there was no one there. And then, she heard the whisper, the same whisper she had heard before.
  • "The truth is coming," it said. "And when it does, nothing will ever be the same again."
  • Isabella knew that Kaida's words were not empty threats. Kaida had been a skilled fighter and a loyal member of Isabella's pack who were her parents favorite pack member before the rogue attack that had destroyed everything. Kaida and Isabella are not fond of each other as Kaida was always at rivalry to Isabella to receive favoritism for Isabella's parents. Isabella's mind is racing with thoughts. How is she alive? What does she mean? Why does the moon goddess ignore my happiness? Trouble after troubles, when does it end?
  • Isabella turned to Alpha Ethan and Alpha Jackson, her eyes searching for answers. "What does she mean?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
  • Alpha Ethan's expression was grim. "I don't know," he admitted. "But we need to find out."
  • Alpha Jackson nodded in agreement. "We can't ignore Kaida's warning. We need to investigate."
  • Isabella nodded, her mind racing with possibilities. She knew that Kaida's appearance was not a coincidence. Kaida came to deliver a message, a message that could change everything.
  • ***
  • As they left the headquarters, Isabella couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched. She glanced over her shoulder, but there was no one there.
  • Ah the peace treaty! She reminded herself, as she bumped into Alpha Jackson hard body while thinking and walking.
  • "I'm sorry, please"
  • "I think you need to rest, I'll see you tomorrow before you head back"
  • "I don't think I can rest but seeing my kids right now may be what I need. Thank you"
  • "Your kids?", Alpha Ethan asked.
  • "I don't know why you're still here, you can leave now", Alpha Jackson demanded.
  • "Just making sure she's safe"
  • "Just making sure she's safe" Alpha Jack mimicked. "Leave, now!"
  • "Isabella, you and I have unfinished business and I won't leave you alone till we're finished. You'll see me again", Alpha Ethan said and walked out, grudgingly.
  • Alpha Jackson turned to Isabella. "Go back to your children," he said. "You're safe now."
  • Isabella nodded, still trying to process what had just happened. She made her way back to her quarters, her mind reeling with questions. As she entered her quarters, she was greeted by the smiling faces of her children. They were playing with their toys, oblivious to the danger that had just passed. Isabella smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She knew that she had to protect her children at all costs.
  • But as she watched them play, she couldn't shake off the feeling that they were still in danger. Kaida's words kept echoing in her mind, "The truth is coming, and when it does, nothing will ever be the same
  • Isabella watched her children play, she couldn't help but smile at their antics. Her youngest, a mischievous little boy named Max, was trying to get his brothers attention by making silly faces and noises.
  • "Mommy, Mommy! Look at me!" Max exclaimed, crossing his eyes and sticking out his tongue.
  • Isabella chuckled and shook her head. "Max, you're such a goofball."
  • Her first Child Mira, rolled her eyes and continued to play with her doll. "Mommy, can we have story time now?"
  • Isabella nodded and settled in with her children for a reading of their favorite book. As she read, she couldn't help but feel a sense of normalcy wash over her. For a brief moment, she forgot about the danger that lurked outside.
  • But as she finished the story and closed the book, Isabella's mind began to wander back to Kaida and the mysterious threat that loomed over her family.
  • As she tucked her children into bed, Isabella couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. She glanced around the room, her senses on high alert.
  • And then, she saw it. A small piece of paper on the floor, with a message scrawled in red ink.
  • "The truth is coming," it read. "Be ready."
  • Isabella's heart skipped a beat as she realized that Kaida had been in her quarters, watching her children. She felt a chill run down her spine as she wondered what Kaida's next move would be.
  • As she looked at her children, sleeping peacefully in their beds, Isabella knew that she would do anything to protect them. She would face whatever danger came their way, head-on.
  • But as she turned to leave the room, Isabella felt a hand on her shoulder. She spun around, ready to defend herself.
  • And that's when everything went black.
