Chapter 107

  • Isabella’s sobs eventually turned to silence as exhaustion consumed her, and she drifted into a restless sleep. In that dream, she found herself in a dimly lit room, darkness creeping along the walls. The air felt thick, heavy with despair. She blinked, trying to organise herself as a sense of anxiety washed over her.
  • Before her stretched a sight, a nightmare manifested. The room was filled with people bound in chains, the harsh metal glinting in the faint light. Some were locked in their human forms, while others had transformed into their wolf selves, their fur matted and their eyes glazed with fear and pain. The anguished howls of the wolves reverberated around her, mingling with the soft, muffled cries of the humans, creating an orchestra of suffering that pulled at Isabella’s heart.
  • She stepped forward cautiously, her instincts urging her to help, to free them from their torment. But as she neared, a figure caught her attention, a woman cloaked in a long, hooded gown that masked her face. The gown flowed around her like darkness, giving her an almost ethereal presence.
