Chapter 26

• It was a typical Monday morning at the hospital, with the sound of beeping machines and the smell of disinfectant filling the air. Zack, Isabella and Coco, their colleague at work were in the middle of a meeting, discussing a patient's treatment plan, when Coco left to attend to another patient. Zack suddenly turned to Isabella and said, "Hey, I'm having a cookout at my house this weekend and I'd love for you and the kids to come."
• Isabella looked taken aback, her eyes darting around the room to make sure no one was listening. "Zack, I don't know if that's such a good idea," she whispered. "I think we should keep our relationship under wraps for a while longer."
• Zack raised an eyebrow, his expression incredulous. "What's the point of hiding it?" he asked, his voice low. "We're both adults, and we're not doing anything wrong."
