• Gabriel's eyes was shocked from the gruesome scene he beheld in Ethan's hospital room. The bloodstained sheet, the overturned bed, and the sounds of machineries. The scent in the hospital, lingered in his nostrils mixed with that of blood. He felt numb and shocked.
• Without hesitation, Gabriel turned and fled the room, while retracing his steps through the corridor of the hospital. The lights above, cast shadows on the wall, making him feel like he was navigating a labyrinth. He snatched a discarded hospital scrubs, putting it on hastily to cover his naked body. The coarse fabric scratched his skin, a coarse reminder of his nakedness.
• As he came out into the night air, Gabriel's mind moved in thoughts. Where was Ethan? Where was Marcus? Are they okay? How far are they? What happened here? The questions echoed his mind like a mantra, fueling his desperation.
