Chapter 83 Jasmine's Resolve

• "You really think you can just walk away like that?" I hear the challenge in his voice before I even turn around. My breath catches for a second, but I don't betray it. I swivel slowly, my gaze meeting his, not a whit intimidated by the smugness oozing from every pore.
• "I do." My voice doesn't waver, even as the tension in this room coils tight enough it could spring lose any second. "There's nothing left to say and nothing left to hold me here."
• He smirks and folds his arms about him, looking for all the world like he's enjoying this little standoff. "You're making a big mistake, Jasmine."
