Chapter 17 ~ The Lady Mother Is Waiting ~

  • ~ The Lady Mother Is Waiting ~
  • He already knew where to find his master. As Aiden descended the staircase, he spotted Lady Isabella and the Earl of Lancashire making their way down the stairs. 'Ah! Good, there they are!' Aiden thought to himself. Making himself noticed, "My lord and my lady!" He said, looking at Isabella and William. "The jammer is now active. I made sure to test it out myself. It is safe to say that the guests will not be able to use their devices while they are within the perimeters." He relaxed, seeing the nod of his master's head. His demeanour changed quickly, and a wicked smile formed on Aiden's face, "we will not have anyone trying to capture our true nature like the last time. I have made sure of it!"
  • Aiden continued to speak, letting William know that his sister, Lady Delilah, had arrived from Lancashire Castle. He added that William's brothers would be arriving soon. But most importantly, he informed his lordship that Lady Mother was in the lounge, mingling with the guests and eagerly awaiting his presence. "It will be good to have all seven of you back together!"
  • With a light giggle, Isabella linked her arm around her brother, "We must not leave Mam waiting!" She was too eager to see her mother, but most of all, she wanted to know the person who had her face.
  • Isabella tugged gently on William's arm, her eyes sparkling with mischief as they ventured further into the corridor. "Think of all the fun we are going to have this week!" Aiden trailed closely behind them, listening to everything Isabella had to say. William responded with short answers, something he did when there were many thoughts on his mind.
  • Emerging from a hidden passage known only to them. In the distance, they listened to the cheerful sounds of the guests mingling and chatting with one another. Stepping out, they ensured the passage would not be noticed by any of the guests.
  • Coming from down the hallway, "Dear Brother ... little sister!" A female voice bounced off the wall, greeting the siblings.
  • They all came to a halt, and Isabella spun around with excitement. William tugged on his jacket as he turned slowly. Aiden moved to the side to watch the siblings greet each other one at a time. Delilah moved her feet in a blur. Dashing toward them, William was the first she ran to.
  • Wrapping his arms around her, "It is good to see you!" William smiled as he kissed the top of his sister's head. "How was your trip back to Ireland?"
  • "Pttf, The ferry was dreadful," Delilah then draped her arms around her sister's shoulders, giving her a warm hug. "The only good thing about the trip is that I found the traitor to the family." She smirked as she continued, "Delivered our adversary to the tribunal!" Softly, she chuckled. "He went kicking and screaming like a little girl." She stepped away from her sister. "Our uncle and the tribunal are dealing with him now!" Chuckling some more, “Hey there, Aiden!” Delilah exclaimed, her face lighting up with a warm smile as she approached him. “Is my brother keeping you busy?”
  • "Delilah, it is good to see you. It will be even better when the seven of you are all together under one roof!" Aiden wrapped his arms around Delilah, lightly chuckling, "Honestly, I’d be drowning in boredom if it weren't for William!" He pulled away from their embrace with a warm smile. Swiftly shifting into his next thought, "Your Mam has been eagerly waiting for you and your brothers and sister to get here. You should head over to the lounge. Our guests are gathered and ready!"
  • Isabella was bouncing on the ball of her toes, "Delilah, you are not going to believe this ... we have a guest that is wearing my face!" She uttered quickly.
  • William glared at Aiden as he tilted his head to the side. Without getting the chance to say a word, Isabella had already spilled out the story that their brother had told her.
  • Delilah bobbed her mouth several times, "There is a fathlia in our house!?" She said each word as if it were their own sentence. "Mam is going to lose it when she finds out!"
  • Clearing his throat so that the siblings knew he had something to say, "I took the liberty of informing your Mam the moment I had a chance. If I am not mistaken, your Mam had every intention of speaking with the child during tea!" Aiden had informed the siblings. "Now we should go, your Mam is waiting!"
